FAQs

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: Once the order is placed online or by phone by the noon Friday weekly deadline, it can't be canceled, and no refund will be given because the order will be processed in the kitchen.

Q: What is your Privacy Policy?

A: All customer information is kept confidential and will not be given to third parties used for any other purpose aside from Choice Eating business.

Q: What is your current delivery area?

A: We deliver throughout Chicagoland. Call for details. You also can email us your zip code, and we'll notify you when we add your area.

Q: What if I want meals on weekdays only? Do I have to order three meals a day, seven days a week?

A: Absolutely not! Choice Eating is all about choices -- your choices. Rather than make you stick to rigid rules or set meal plans, we want you to be able to decide what type of meal plan will work best for you. We offer a 5-day Meal Plan and a 7-day Meal Plan. If you prefer to cook or eat out on the weekends, you may want to try our 5-day Plan. If you'd rather not worry about any food shopping or meal planning, then perhaps the 7-day plan is best for you.

Q: I'm a vegetarian. Can I get vegetarian entrees from Choice Eating?

A: Certainly. Choice Eating offers you a complete menu of delicious, nutritious foods that don't include meat.

Q: My doctor wants me to follow a low-cholesterol diet. Does Choice Eating have meals that I can eat?

A: All of the meals that Choice Eating offers are low in cholesterol.

Q: I want to follow a low-carb diet. Can I get low-carb entrees from Choice Eating?

A: Counting carbs? Don't worry. Let Choice Eating count them for you with carefully planned, delicious foods that follow the guidelines of a low-carb diet.

Q: My doctor wants me to follow a sodium-restricted diet. Can I still use Choice Eating?

A: All of the meals that Choice Eating offers are freshly prepared and sodium-restricted.

Q: Is there a fee for your service?

A: The only costs are for the meal plans you select and delivery.

Q: How do I decide what calorie level to choose?

A: On any of our fresh, wholesome meal choices, you can select: 1200 calories for weight loss, to learn healthy eating habits, and to adjust to sensible portion sizes (you can learn to avoid “supersizing” everything) or 2000 calories to maintain weight and feel good about your new eating habits. You may want to start at 1200, and when you have reached your goal, move to the 2000 level for maintenance.

Q: Do you deliver my meals every day?

A: Meals are freshly prepared on a twice weekly cycle. Weekday meals, those for Monday through Thursday, are delivered on Monday, and weekend meals, those for Friday through Sunday, are delivered Thursday.

Q: How do I know which meals to eat first?

A: With each set of meals, you'll receive a calendar that suggests what meals to eat each day. Each meal also is labeled to correspond with the names and descriptions you'll find on your meal calendar.

Q: Are the meals frozen?

A: No. All our meals are prepared fresh. Just pop them in your fridge after you receive them. If refrigerated properly and eaten in the correct order, there is no reason for you to freeze them. But, if you miss or skip a meal for any reason and want to save it for the weekend, for example, you should put it in the freezer. Please keep in mind that because we use no added preservatives, these meals should be eaten fairly soon. And there's no need to thaw out meals you've put in the freezer. Simply microwave immediately.

Q: What if I'm not home when you deliver? We require our drivers to leave your meals in a cooler with an ice pack if you are not home. There is a nominal deposit for this service that will be added to your bill and then credited back to your account towards future meals only after the cooler and ice pack are returned. It is imperative that meals be promptly refrigerated. Please do not plan for the meals to be left out for any length of time. Choice Eating cannot be responsible for meals once they are left in your care.

Q: Can I still use Choice Eating even if I'm not trying to lose weight?

A: Of course! Many of our clients tell us they love the convenience that Choice Eating offers, even if they're not trying to lose weight. They use our service as a way to eat well without worrying about grocery shopping, meal planning, calories and fat grams.

Q: Do you use artificial sweeteners or preservatives?

A: Choice Eating meals are made from the highest quality ingredients. There are no added chemicals, synthetic preservatives, or artificial colors.

Q: What credit cards do you take?

A: We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express.

Q: Do you offer gift certificates?

A: Absolutely! These are great for birthdays, new moms, a friend who is ill, Mother's Day and as a New Year's treat after the weight gains over the November and December holidays.
